The holidays are all about fun! Think hot chocolate, singing loudly to Jinge Bells, and—of course—figuring out what to wear for your holiday photoshoots! Oh yes, the dreaded “What should we wear for the photoshoot?” Better yet, “What should we wear for a winter beach photoshoot?”

Well, follow along to see how our family created this year’s holiday cards with a fun twist on Christmas pajamas—and how we pulled off this awesome look of “Christmas on the Beach”. And my favorite way, without breaking the bank.

I’ve always loved the idea of Christmas on the beach, and this year, I was determined to make it happen. But here’s the thing—I didn’t want to buy a ton of new props or outfits. My goal was to capture the “winter beach photoshoot” vibe using items we already had or could find affordably.

Then came the brilliant idea: Christmas pajamas on the beach! It perfectly captured the merriness of the season while showcasing our California home to family and friends. First, I started by creating a mood board and deciding on a cohesive color palette.

Next, it was time to raid our closets! I pulled out all of our pajamas and kept the ones that matched the mood board. To fill in the gaps, we made a quick trip to the thrift store as a family. And voilà! After spending just $50, our family of six had a fully coordinated wardrobe, ready to rock our winter beach photoshoot!
